My guess is he’ll show up separately since he also leads a country and not just a team

I doubt Asgard is coming to this, whereas I have a feeling T'Challa will be escorted with some Wakandans

The very first comic shop I used to buy from was run by a woman, a real rarity in those days and she really hated female superhero costumes. But then this was the early nineties which I think was a particular nadir for comic art, especially for how women were drawn and costumed, lots of impossible female autonomy, but some of the males didn’t do much better. I totally agree with your points, I think the costumes should be in line with the character of the person wearing them. Also it’s not always the costume but how they are drawn like the infamous Spider-Woman cover.

Though these complaints and what alternatives these people want, can largely vary. Some want total covering or androgyn costumes for a sort of leveled playing field between male and female characters, while others simply want the classic costumes redesigned into a more semi-practical look.

Like just wanting high heels gone from costumes, or some kind of increased fabric coverage around arms and legs, or power armor wearing heroines to not have feminine shaped power armors.

Most female super hero comic consumers i've seen (so take with a grain of salt), seem to belong to the later group, who simply want their favorit female heros in costumes which are both stylish, yet at least practical looking. Though there are also female readers who had zero problem with the classic costumes and their fan service aspects and are actualy annoyed by the redesign trend just as much as some male readers are.
Also several seem to find the notion of putting up a super hero fashion show to draw more of them in condescending. Go figure.

Though there is also another opinion on what could have started the trend of redesigns and that is cosplay and movies. Basicly pre-emptive redesigning comic costumes into more wearable looks so people can dress up as the characters easier, both at conventions and for movie filming.

Either way, there is a trend for less revealing costumes, what ever it harms the sales or has no effect isn't easy to confirm however.

As for Emma Frost. She gets a free pass, because a core part of her character in the eyes of many writers, artists and readers seems to have become that she always wears skimpy form fitting or revealing outfits. It's expected from the character by now.
With the reason regulary brought up being that she is a moraly grey character and former villain, so it's no problem for her to be more "lose" about her dress code.
For me, it's at least: Does this fit the character? And are you Jessica Rabbit-ing her? As in, it's not a bad look, just drawn that way.

Emma's personality-type is one where I can totally buy her choosing a revealing costume. She leans into her sex appeak, and honestly strikes me as someone who would would rather die than dress practically. Fashion over function. Also, with the inclusion of her diamond form, she's a bit of a tank and can actually take hits! See also why Colossus can wear his booty shorts. Contrast that with Huntress belly window, which doesn't fit the character and is honestly a very terrible strategic choice for someone squishy. Likewise, Sue Storm's boob window '4' also didn't fit the character at all. Even though she can create shields and protection, she's just not the personality type to run around in battle belly and boobs-bared. Then again, I also hate Jean's go-go dress, because it doesn't strike me as something a woman in her late-twenties would choose to wear -- but that also goes with her calling herself Marvel Girl.

As for the 'not bad, just drawn that way" -- I feel like that's something a lot of female characters face. Take Carol Danvers' iconic Ms. Marvel costume for example. It's honestly one of my favorite comic costumes. It's just so aesthetically pleasing to look at. Her power set allows her to pull it off. I actually hate her current costume because I feel like it lacks personality. The swimsuit look is fine in and of itself, and evocative of what many gymnasts wear. (And yes, I do know some are pushing back against the leotards.) However, too often it was drawn with heels and and basically looking like a thong cut that it *felt* trashy.

It's a shame that classic She-Hulk isn't currently with us. She would have been serving looks at the gala.

I thought this was strange as well but the only reasons I can think of are:

-Asgard is currently not on Earth so an invite was not extended (though not sure if other empires were invited i.e. Shi'ar, Kree/Skrull Allliance, etc)

-The Avengers did not realise the scope of the gala so Thor assumed it was just a party (they do not appear to have made an effort but I would have thought Black Panther would let them now)

-Thor decided to go as an Avenger rather than a king.

Hopefully this is addressed at the gala because even Iron Man does not appear to be wearing a formal outfit.

If anything, it may mean other heroes do not really see Krakoa as a true country and this gala will make them understand the scope of Krakoa.

This has been a fact for years now. Gee I wonder why lol. Honestly I wish none of the Avengers came but that’s probably not happening.

Wakanda is still its own separate entity and makes more sense than to come in suboordinate to the Avengers
