Hmm, I'm willing to bet those two storylines will eventually intersect, given Kingpin's longstanding animosity for both Daredevil(s) and Spider-Man. Hell, before Matt went and got himself locked up, he had Peter/Spidey give a brief demonstration to the various ascendant crime lords under "Mayor Fisk's" leadership that Matt being in prison wouldn't give them a free hand to do whatever they wanted in Hell's Kitchen. Compare him to the one that got played by Felicia and the Foreigner in SSM.
First he had a really hard time in trusting her again and Felicia actually had to work really hard to gain that trust (fighting Sabertooth just to start).
And when he found out? That was a very unhappy Peter.
Oh and the plan backfired because Felcia actually fell in love with Peter Parker.
