Default Indiana Jones game coming from Wolfenstein team

    https://www.ign.com/articles/indiana...ucasfilm-games

Indy's been a bit of a mixed bag with games. Fate of Atlantis is considered the high mark, some of the Nintendo and LEGO games were OK etc, but pretty much every game since then has been eclipsed-or just used similar game mechanics-to Tomb Raider and Uncharted, really. (Infernal machine, Emperor's tomb, Staff of Kings etc).

Of course with Bethesda involved this means it might wind up being an Xbox exclusive.

Totally crazy that I was thinking after the announcement that an Indiana Jones game would be awesome. Good team for it too! Better not be Xbox exclusive though or there will be blood.

Todd Howard involvement does not fill me with confidence.

Unless there was a pre-existing deal before Microsoft brought them this will definitely be an exclusive.

Considering Uncharted was basically Indiana Jones as a video game franchise, I'm curious what an actual AAA modern Indy game would be like.

Main difference with Uncharted and Tomb Raider is that they're both set in the modern day, whereas Indiana Jones is set in the 30s-50s (and possibly the 60s-70s by the time Indy V ever comes out).

Judging by the clues in the trailers it appears the film will take place between Raiders and Last Crusade (1937) with Indy in Italy and might involve Rome/The Vatican. I'm guessing he'll possibly come across the Nazis and their Italian allies as well.

Wonder who they'll get to voice/mo-cap Indy? Doug Lee did the voice for Fate of Atlantis and Infernal Machine but he never really sounded like Harrison to me.

I'm guessing Anthony Ingruber might be in talks. He looks and sounds a lot like a young Ford; and he's worked on video games before.

1937 was Temple of Doom, '38 was Raiders, '39 was Last Crusade. That does often throw people that Temple is set before Raiders.

Actually, it's 1935 for Temple, 1936 for Raiders and 1938 for Last Crusade. So 1937 fits pretty well as a setting. Also setting it later might run into World War II where Indy served in the OSS according to Crystal Skull.

It was also the year Indy probably almost married Marion and when she got pregnant with Mutt, but I don't know if that'll be part of the story in anyway.

You’re right, must have misremembered those dates, so it’s set between Raiders and Last Crusade which means prime era Indy, nice. I doubt we’ll ever see Indy actually in WW2, the films always prefer the Nazis in their still trusted days I guess.

Kinda curious when the new film will be set, going by Harrison’s age we could be in the 70’s with Indy by now.

Yeah, that makes me wonder as well. Perhaps the plot might deal with the Vietnam war somehow?

Kind of wondering about the progress for this since it's been almost a year since the announcement. Wonder if it'll come out around the time of the next Indy film, which was delayed a whole year.

Trailer, including gameplay. Seems to be first person.

Troy Baker is playing Indy, and seems to have gotten the 80's Harrison Ford voice down. Better than Harrison did in DIAL's prologue, anyway.

Marcus is in the game (Not sure who the Va is though); His "Running away from your problems" may be a reference to Marion whose engagement to Indy fell apart at this time. Fits the timeline plus a bit of a callback to "Marion is the least of your problems".

Alessandra Mastronardi plays the female character, Marios Gavrili is the Nazi scientist, Tony Todd is "Locus" the scary guy in the museum.

Looks like a PS5 version is not out of the question.
