I feel like marvel will do what it wants to do regardless of our opinion, this argument is kinda childish.
Ommadon: “By summoning all the dark powers I will infest the spirit of man So that he uses his science and logic to destroy himself. Greed and avarice shall prevail, and those who do not hear my words shall pay the price. I'll teach man to use his machines, I'll show him what distorted science can give birth to. I'll teach him to fly like a fairy, and I'll give him the ultimate answer to all his science can ask. And the world will be free for my magic again.”

Saying "she's not a mutant in the MCU" doesn't mean anything because there are no mutants in the MCU. If they introduced mutants and made no sign of Wanda being a mutant, that would be one thing, but saying "there's no indication she's a mutant" is as relevant as saying there's no indication that she's a Kryptonian.
I never want to see her retconned in comics again, I just think they should handwave it and say that if they had the X-gene, and registered on every device as a mutant, and got repeatedly captured by mutant-hunting sentinels, and were completely indistinguishable from mutants for almost their entire comics existence, then yeah, they're mutants.
I can't get very pressed about it because the MCU version is going to define her forever, and the MCU version is and has always been a magical witch. I just think it's goofy for the comics characters to act like she isn't a mutant on what is basically a technicality. I actually do think that eventually they'll just sort of go back to mentioning her history as a mutant when it's appropriate for the story (e.g. her time in the Brotherhood) while still keeping her out of X-books where she never had much of a presence.
