    This comic was two beginnings - Kitty Pryde officially gets her codename and joins the team, and the beginning of the tagline on the cover, which gets used later when Rogue joins the team and then even later for Havok.

    This cover always amused me.
    The only rational explanation I could come up with over the years is that whoever colored this art didn't know who Superman is. (The interiors are B&W).
    Therefore, seeing his underwear, it made sense to color him with skin tones.
    After all, no one would wear their undies outside, right?
