Fortunately he's only doing covers and not interiors.

It's so weird but i felt the same way. Ewing writing has a very strong presence imo when i feel an artist doesn't feel the writer. I've rarely felt that way, which tells me he's one of the few writers i'd take over art. Learn something new about yourself everyday. Like all of his books thinking about it feel like he would draw them if he was the artist. he's really good at the choices he makes. Or whoever pairs him.

Man, this latest issue (4) was pretty awesome, for an obligatory crap-of-the-week event-tie-in.

Eden and Joanna vs. Knull/Cable was pretty awesome, and her comment to him about remembering her time with his dad was pretty intense, since it's the kind of thing he might remember, and have a think about later... I could probably read a book about just the space-warping adventures of Manifold and his muscle-girl, Frenzy, and skip the rest entirely!

Mentallo seems like he might be on the route to being a problem, with the shade he keeps getting thrown. He may never have amounted to much, but he is a genius inventor and low-level telepath (one of Marvel's first!) from way, way back. Not really someone you want to be on the bad side of (especially if he's living in your house, getting handsy with your tech and otherwise all up in your business), and he's, historically, been little more than 'bad side.'

Cortez. Eh. Really about ten times more interested in what's baking with some of the other people seen wandering about, like Sunfire, Banshee and Random (who is being cute-sy by being, literally, randomly here, with a dash of extra random).

Magneto had an interesting notion that will probably never be addressed, of gathering together all the mutants with powers the symbiotes are vulnerable to, fire, electricity, light. Can you imagine? Sunfire. Havok. Thunderbird III. Sunspot. Magma. Firestar. Vulcan. Storm. Surge. Bolt. Stinger. Dazzler. Northstar & Aurora. Xenon. Elf. (good luck Googling those two!) Pyros I and II. Banshee, Siryn and Ruckus (to charge up Dazzler!) Mimic, Synch, Rogue, Hope, Chance, etc. to boost and / or duplicate the most effective among them. They'd just clear a swath through the symbiotes!

"Sorry Thor, Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer. The mutants are here. You can go home. We got this."

I wanted Iron Fist to join SWORD as an ambassador. I also like Hank Pym and Lyja joining.

I wouldn't mind if Random popped up in Kid Cable's solo series. Just have a buddy cop comedy one off issue with Kid Cable interacting with his coworkers.

I actually wanna cosplay as a member of SWORD. Those outfits are amazing.

Known for his long-term world building and big payoffs, mastermind writer Al Ewing has completely revolutionized Marvel’s space-based sagas, introducing exciting new developments such as Emperor Hulkling, the Kree/Skrull Empyre, the return of S.W.O.R.D., and a wild new lineup for the Guardians of the Galaxy. And since last year’s epic EMPYRE, Ewing has laid the groundwork for an explosive conflict that’s set to erupt this July in THE LAST ANNIHILATION, a new storyline that will impact some of your favorite cosmic titles and more. THE LAST ANNIHILATION will unfold throughout the summer starting in July with GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #16 and S.W.O.R.D. #7.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #16 will see the entire galaxy under attack, the likes of which haven’t been seen since Annihilus first waged war. Someone out there has awakened with a new vision for the universe and they have the army to make it a reality. When five different planets fall under siege, will it be too much even for the new Guardians of the Galaxy to handle?

S.W.O.R.D. #7 will take place immediately following the Hellfire Gala. The party is over...but not all the guests have gone home. Victor Von Doom is staying for dinner. Be there as he catches up with an old friend… just as THE LAST ANNIHILATION hits!

"GUARDIANS and S.W.O.R.D. have been building their own unique gravity for a while now, and in space, when two objects have gravity, there's a pretty good chance they'll crash into each other - or get sucked into the orbit of something even bigger,” Ewing says. “Marvel Space these days is a fragile coalition of worlds that chose peace over war, a little bubble of hope in a cruel void - but there's an enemy nobody ever suspected readying an attack that'll either cement all those frail alliances or tear them to pieces."

This summer...the war to end all wars begins. And not everyone’s going to come home. Find out who the mysterious foe behind THE LAST ANNIHILATION is on June 23 in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #15. And be there on July 21 when it kicks off in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #16!

I'm kinda annoyed too but this one I actually like considering what happened with Hulkling is what prompted Brand to create S.W.O.R.D.
