No! I’d rather he naturally admit his wrongdoings and reform then have an easy comic book fix.

I want Beast to be the leader of his own team. he's never been leader. he's taken for granted as the tech/science backup guy. that has to change.

    He co-leads X-Force

that is such a cheap copout that prevents him from taking any accountability for his actions and as mentioned its not real reformation

That's kind of horrifying, since who gets to decide what is 'wrongthink?' Running around editing the personalities of folk like Sinister and Mystique seems bad enough (if they can't be trusted, put them in suspended animation and leave them for next century to deal with), but what if it's decided that certain other behaviors are disruptive or unwelcome?

What is bad is often also a sliding scale. Modifying Wolverine to be less of a slasher-killer might seem like a good idea, but fifty years ago, when homosexuality was in the DSM as a psychological disorder, it would have been non-controversial to edit Bobby's brain to make the gay go away.

OTOH, they don't need to kill and resurrect people to do stuff. Emma could edit his thoughts and personality from across the room without him noticing it, and Charles is way better than Emma... One thing that annoys me about Krakoa is all the 'kill 'em and resurrect them with X!' going on here. 99% of what's being proposed, *including* fixing broken X-genes, could be done to people while they are still alive. If Proteus / Elixir / etc. can restore the X-gene of a clone of someone with no X-gene, then they can obviously do the same thing to a living person, without ganking them and growing a copy first. (Elixir did this very thing by accident to Wolfsbane practically in his first week as a mutant! And he's only gotten better! And he's enhanced by Hope and Proteus now!)

The Five primarily seems to exist as a rallying cry / binding agent. What they do was done long before them, often by single mutants working alone, and much of the cosmetic / restorative aspects of the Crucible, etc. could be done without killing people (and has in the past!).

Agreed. What If... ?, Vol. 2 #9 would be proof of that (IMHO):
