X-Men readers will be encouraged to vote for a member of the X-Men. The winning vote, as voted on by the public in real life, will become one of the members of the X-Men team that the population of Krakoa vote for.

According to BleedingCool, the vote will be from a pre-selected list, no write-ins. (So I imagine any mutant already part of another book won't be included.) And readers aren't electing members of the entire team but just one member.

Lol, of course it's a marketing stunt, but it shouldn't be that hard to integrate the voted on character. Whoever gets chosen most likely won't have a significant effect on the overall plot. With the way Hickman has been writing the X-Men, there are only a few mutants who are essential in providing direction (i.e. Prof. X, Cyclops, Apocalypse, etc.). Most of the characters, if you take them out and replace them with someone else, wouldn't change the story at all. For instance, Glob was initially going to be the mutant who showed that dying in Otherworld was a true death, but he was replaced by Rockslide. I doubt the switch had any impact on how the story played out.

Marvel is holding an official vote where readers will decide on one character to be added to Hickman's X-Men team debuting at the Hellfire Gala. I know there's already a separate thread, but I thought it'd be interesting to create a poll to see how this board differs from the general readership. It'll also give us a possible idea of who would win the vote since we may not know the results for awhile.
