What is the current state of Lar Zod anyway? Last I saw him was in the Green Lantern story "Zod's Will" in Green Lantern issues 37-41. There he seemed like a young version of his father. Was all the Chris Kent stuff washed away by Flashpoint and the current Lor never left the Phantom Zone until the whole family escaped? Has it been changed since then?

In a word, yes. Following his introduction in Rebirth, Lor-Zod was made into a polar opposite of Chris Kent from before the New 52. He was brought up loyal to his parents and acted like the spitting image of his father. Think Damian Wayne when he was first introduced in Morrison's Batman run but more cruel and arrogant. This Lor-Zod wasn't abused by his parents, tormented in the Phantom Zone, never lived with Clark and Lois as their adopted son or was aged up and possessed by the Nightwing entity. As far as I'm aware, Bendis' Superman run did nothing to change this portrayal of Lor-Zod. Although technically Clark remembers all of his history thanks to Death Metal so he might remember adopting Lor-Zod and naming him Chris, but that's unlikely to be honest.
