I liked how the 90's Bat titles built her up to be THE martial artist in the DCU.
With Connor Hawke coming back with Damian, I'd love to see a rematch!!

I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
Shiva deserves her own book. I could totally see it kicking ass.

The first time I encountered Shiva was in "The Question." She was untouchable as a martial artist (aside from Dragon), but she was definitely more "chaotic neutral" than a villain - someone who just wanted to test herself and was devoted to her craft. She also dressed in more contemporary way, so seeing other depictions of her as a villainous dragon lady type always struck me as wrong, even if that was her initial template. I am glad that she's frequently presented as more complicated than that.
I just noticed how similar Cheshire's outfit was to original Lady Shiva's first appearance. I wonder how that happened....
Ethically, Shiva's willingness to kill (even innocent people at times) and taking gigs from evil people tend to make her lean towards to the villainous side, but she's an interesting character. A regular series I think would take away the mystery and specialness of the character but a mini-series at least.
Right now Shiva is one of the few martial artists/villains that haven't really been watered down over time. If your favorite Street Level hero suddenly found themselves against Lady Shiva, you would go "Oh crap how are they going to get out of this?" She's basically "protected" and that's one of the reasons why she remains popular.

It's pretty much how Cowan drew her in the Question series. (it was the 80s...)
