Boring issue, I know that Xandra stuff will pay off down the line, but this book feels like it should be bimonthly at the pace Hickman is going. Hope the Vault issue next will finally pick up the pace again.
I thought this was a fun one off adventure issue, art was decent but I’m happy Asrar is taking over. I will say that Booth’s depiction of Storm is amazing, she looked like such a boss in every scene. Definitely filing this issue away as required reading when the X-Men go cosmic. Reading Bobby and Sam really made me feel like I was reading Hickman’s Avengers again, that’s not a bad thing either. Fun read today.
I liked this issue, but Cyke getting hit in the head with that hammer and not having his skull smashed made me think it must have been a nerf hammer.
Yes, this definitely feels like the old X-men Unlimited ongoing. Just a bunch of different stories with very little connective tissue. It just makes for a very disengaged experience cause there is just no driving narrative or theme with this book. The art? I am still deciding how I feel about it. It indeed felt very 90s. I enjoy blatant nostalgia every now and then but some panels just felt so very edgy and extreme that I just felt a bit embarrassed.
the hammer of the bad dude was a dissapointment
It got Cyclops unconscious like the regular batton of a cop, I thought it would kill Scott
