The big question mark is ...can Wentz rebound in Indy with a solid offense and solid offensive line ? If I was the Colts I'd still draft a QB in rd. 2 to have around ...just in case. Philly was smart by drafting Hurts as we saw.

Also speaking of Philadelphia , the team will be taking a $33+ million dead money hit for Wentz this season.
Indy finally screws Philly in a trade!

Even if Wentz sucks, that dead money is enough.

Everyone, including Kellerman saw how Jalen Hurts was more effective behind the very same offensive line than Wentz was. Meanwhile, that dead cap hit will hurt the Eagles, good thing it's only for one season.

I love how The Eagles traded all those draft picks for Wentz and in the end are paying 33 mil for him to play in Indy.

Hurts will get to an actual training camp behind him, as the starter. And chances are things will be back to normal come football season this year. Plus don't forget they are in the Division of mediocrity - all they have to do is be better than the Cowboys, WFTs and Giants - all are substantial messes. Eagles will be fine, long as they can just not suck.

    NFL News...

    - The NFL and NFLPA agreed to a minimum salary cap of $180 million right now. The NFL has said the actual total will be revealed before free agency but the number will itch higher once they crunch earnings from the last months of 2020. (some guess $185-190 million).

    - The blood cutting has begun as teams have started cutting a lot of starters. The last couple days these cuts have hit...

Carolina Panthers : Tre Boston (Starting Safety) , Michael Palardy (punter) , Stephen Weatherly (DE) , Kawann Short (DT) .
Atlanta Falcons : Ricardo Allen (Safety) , Allen Bailey (DE) , Kurt Benkurt (QB) .

Expect more cuts and teams to start reworking contracts to get under the cap.

Kawann Short might be the top free agent now at DT.

Not shocking, given his injuries the past 3 years.

Some experts aren't ruling out the possibility the Eagles might draft a quarterback with the 6th pick. That would be ridiculously stupid, especially when top wide receivers like Devonta Smith figure to be there for the picking.

And nothing of value was lost since he only played a handful of games in his second stint with the Birds. I for one won't miss him. I heard Alshon Jeffery might also be on the chopping block. Won't miss him either as he was only a shell of himself.

Panthers are clearing lots of cap space.

Some think in prep for a run at DeShaun.

The Jets , Dolphins , Panthers and 49ers seems to be the teams talked about for Watson. But if you believe the Houston Texans will be fighting to keep him. That they won't be trading him.

The Chiefs and Broncos likely have some big salary cuts coming.

    - Sammy Watkins is likely done in KC. Unless he plays for league minimum as his health last year took a heat. KC missed a healthy Watkins as he is a solid WR when healthy and next to Kelce and Hill quite a tandem to handle. But his role has diminished as we saw in 2020. And they have Hardman there who did more in year #2.

    - KC could also as wild as it sounds end up cutting both starting tackles and drafting offensive line. Schwartz is considered one of the best tackles in the league as his play has been great. But he was hurt last year and with a bad back KC has some question marks with him. If he can recover he may take a pay cut. Eric Fisher is a so/so tackle but his price tag is way too much for just an average starter. So unless he takes a massive pay cut he will be gone.

    - Denver meanwhile could end up cutting Von Miller as it wild as it sounds. Miller missed all of last season with injury and counts $18+ million against the Cap. Then there is this situation that has came up off the field....

In all more big cuts are likely coming. KC is approaching the toughest season in Reid's coaching stint there. He's gotta repair the offensive line and build a better defense.

Well Mahomes can only do his magic with a good O-line, otherwise he'll end up getting hurt and then his play will start to decline when he's not as fast as he used to be and all of that...

Side note tried to find the MLB thread but couldn't, ah well we still have a few weeks before that season starts...

I think we do a new thread for each season. So go ahead and start an "MLB 2021 Season" thread.
