Most disastrous opening day Colts QB performance still belongs to Kerry Collins. Scott T. did give the vet a run for the title though.

Shoutout to the Hall of Fame inductees Petyon Manning and Edgerrin James on the eve of the Hall of Fame game. For my money Edge was and still is the greatest RB talent the Indianapolis Colts ever had. Even though the bulk of the playoff success came after Edge those two were instrumental in turning the fans of the city around. Good times.
Beefing up the old home security, huh?
    You bet yer ass.

Deadspin's Sam Fels just took a big giant dump all over Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins. Can't say I disagree in the least.

Seems the NY Football Giants are having a hell of a time with their training camp. Soon after they had a team-wide brawl that resulted in QB being pinned under a mass of other players. Coach Judge tired to bring the hammer down making them run laps as punishment and to instill accountability, and since then there has a been a string of veteran players and recent free agent signees (mostly offensive lineman) announcing their retirement and leaving camp rather than continuing to participate in such activities. All claim it has to do with other matters not the punishment, but the timing seems a little suspect.

And the first pre-season game (the who cares Hall of Fame game) is in the books, so the 2021-2022 season is officially underway, though it was a yawner of a game with no name players really participating for either the Steelers or the Cowboys.

Joe Judge is a kook who puts up the "old school hard knocks tough guy footbuh" front... and he's going to push an outdated culture in the Meadowlands that's going to make free agents think twice about wanting to play there with this lunacy. The fact that he's sticking by Daniel Jones already makes him a high probability for getting fired during or after this season, but this... isn't going to help.

Who's Next...? Why Your Team Sucks... The Carolina Panthers! Who for reasons that can't be explained, traded three draft picks for this guy:

    • Drew Magary:"It’s easy to believe that Darnold was ruined by Adam Gase and the Jets, and that Darnold was never given enough good coaching and enough resources to suck on his own. But I watched him play with my own two eyes. I saw him see the ghosts. He’s a f***ing slob. Just a slobby quarterback mouthbreathing his way around the field, going DUHHH HERE’S THE BALL DUHHH. Give Darnold to Andy Reid and he’d still earhole the waterboy a dozen times every practice. oor Robby Anderson thought he was free of Darnold. It’s like when police returned one of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims to him."
    • Dominik:"I miss Cam Newton. F*** the Broncos with Peyton Manning’s fivehead."
    • Jeff:"Christian McCaffrey is going to go 1.1 in every fantasy league and then suffer another season-ending injury by Week 3."
    • Wesley:"I’ve been a Panthers fan since they entered the league and I was a boy. I’ve never known back-to-back winning seasons, even with generational talents like Cam and Luke Kuechly. We are a dynasty of pain, with a fanbase that’s satisfied with mediocrity so long as the players have a nice smile and kiss babies on the forehead. We have an actual, official fan club called The Roaring Riot who claim they are “Undefeated at Tailgaiting”, like being in your mid 40s and slamming craft beers while playing cornhole and singing Sweet Caroline is some achievement in fandom.

What’s that? You say you would like more? Here, please, take this sprint down Pain Lane…

Our former head coach bragged about winning the division three times in a row, despite winning it once with a losing record. He was given a better sendoff than Cam Newton. Our new coach resembles a gerbil and has the sensibilities to match. We fumbled the release of arguably the most important player in franchise history, but it’s only the first time we bungled a release if you don’t count Steve Smith, Deangelo Williams, Josh Norman, or Greg Olsen. We brought in the backup of the Saints just to watch the fanbase (me included) incinerate him on social media.

Somehow, we still thought that Sam Darnold was an upgrade over Teddy Bridgewater. The Saints have been caught up in cheating scandals and helped the Catholic Church avoid a pedophilia scandal, yet they still somehow come out looking better than our team."

Drew pulls no punches. I'm looking forward to when he has to burn Kirk Cousins for being anti-vaxx and generally an overpaid disappointment.

So, Cousins is an anti-vaxxer, apparently so are Cam Newton and Carson Wentz, both basically having played the "personal choice" card when asked if they got the vaccine. Talk about nonsense!

Bills ink Josh Allen to an extension with the largest guaranteed money in NFL history. The Bills announced Friday that Allen agreed to a six-year contract extension with the deal topping out at $258 million, and $150 million of that guaranteed.

Is he still refusing to get vaccinated? If so, he may be a rich dick, but he's still a dick.

On Darnold, Gase also "ruined" Tannerhill, but he is doing fine now. Let's see what he does with a real coach.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
