I haven’t read it. I’m not thrilled with his Superman, but it’s clear he’s just a placeholder until Jon takes over.

Understandable. MZ: Resurrection was rather bleak reading, I'll admit. I thought he captured that setting pretty well, but beyond that . . .

Did Jeff Loveness just stealth announce him taking over Venom?

Wasn't he the same guy that did the last Nova series? The one bringing back Richard Rider and costarring Sam Alexander?

I liked that one, for what it was worth. And I think he did a short story for the Venom Annual in 2018, too.

His recent arc on Justice League was pretty amazing.

Should the next run on Venom be more gritty noir horror, sci-fi horror, gritty noir superhero, or sci-fi superhero?

Cool, I'll have to check that out. As for Venom, I'd say a mix of the above could work. How about gritty noir and sci-fi horror mashed together?

On one hand, Venom doesn't deserve Ewing and Ram V.
On the other hand, it's going to be the best Venom series ever published.
On the other hand, that doesn't mean much because there is only one good Venom series.
But on the other hand, it's going to tie-in to Ewing space.
    Hmmmmm.

I think Venom has established himself as a singular character away from Spider-man to the point where I'd almost say the actual book doesn't come across as a Spider-man spin-off.
So I say give it to Ewing, although I'd think he already has a lot on his plate.

One thing I just read by doing a Google Search of Al Ewing is the Venom team will be doing Peter versus Eddie on FCBD, which might be a clue that Spencer’s run will be over before that.

Plus we know Zdarsky's on an FCBD book. With Venom and Hulk now announced, and assuming Aaron stays on Avengers, that means Amazing Spider-Man is Chip's.

If you haven't seen the other thread yet, Al Ewing and Ram V are confirmed as Venom's new writers.
