The Phoenix is very much an X-men thing. It shouldnt be completely diregarded bc of Aaron. The X-line needs to retcon his mess away by saying that what he has used isnt the same PF but some corrupted entity that was created when the Scarlet Witch vanished the PF in AvX

Hickman will course correct, the Phoenix and Galactus are the only 2 beings his Dominion Space Gods for HoX/PoX feared so one or both of them will show up to wreck shop. I’m all for it being saved as well but maybe after Hickman’s run put the Phoenix on the shelf for a few years.

Yes. By Jean and as Jean, like before every writer wanted to make their pet characters the Phoenix. It started with Scott and Emma and has continued from there through AvX to now.

They literally wrote a story about how The Phoenix really just wanted to have sex with Cyclops because Jean isn't allowed to have anything that isn't mostly about Cyclops. It's not surprising that mentality has spread and created further dilution.
