I like Groff, and he would have been perfect for the original film back in 2000, but imo he's too old now. I would want MCU Iceman to be about the same age as Spider Man, so they should cast an actor closer to Tom Holland's age. Flynn might work.
He would have been 14 years old in 1999 when the film was shooting. That's a bit too young for a Bobby who was technically set up to be Rogue's love interest.
By the time the X-Men make it to the MCU, Tom Holland would probably be in his mid-late 20's (and Peter would be going to college I think). Flynn would be pushing 30, which would be Adult Bobby aged.I would want MCU Iceman to be about the same age as Spider Man, so they should cast an actor closer to Tom Holland's age.
I'm really torn about what take I want the MCU to go with the X-Men, although the origin story seems like a cop-out after the First Class trilogy. My issue lies specifically on "Are the O5 (+ the ANAD Claremont additions, perhaps) teens in the same age range as MCU Spidey, or older?" If they go young, Flynn might work for about one movie. But Feige casting is one of the finest points of the MCU (although they need to put out a trailer where Brie Larson emotes), so I remain hopeful.
Bobby is not that flaming and his hairline is not receding unlike Ms. Rippon's.
Won't be too long and he'll be wearing them wigs like Johnny Weir.
shady lady.
Adam in his red Olympics outfit is peak Bobby Drake to me.

Gussy is closer to Iceman. He's flirty and funny and sweet.
Gus is the masc4masc version of Bobby that he's slowly growing out of.
I envision one of those panels where it's the same shot, but multiple men/mutants leaving Bobby's apartment in his exploration of his new found self. LOL
