Default A series of less than 6 issues you wish had lasted.

    Exactly what the title says.

Name series that only lasted 6 - ish issues that you liked and thought deserved a longer run. Can be a team, known character or new character.

I’ll start with Doorway To Nightmare - Madame Xanadu was a good character. Sure she had a Vertigo series years later but I was sorry to see her first series go by the wayside.

Also, The Stalker. Drawn by Ditko. It was a different take on sword and sorcery adventure.

Lasted for five issues in 1978 until the DC Implosion killed it off.

    ^^^awesome choice.
Why DC has never tried their own version of Captain America is beyond me.

Not sure if it counts but J. Michael Straczynski‘s Red Circle books were supposed to be a much bigger deal than just a bunch of one shots.

Major Bummer had a 17 issue run. Was ultimately collected thank god, easily my most favourite nontraditional superhero type book.

I've even chatted with artist Doug Mahnke on Instagram about the series and how I'd love to see a reboot. He was very cool!

I don't even like Duke and I feel shortchanged. I remember this getting some press back in the day and I thought it'd get six at least. Three? Really?

ROBBERY!!! my boy is weathering that shitty hand tho, regardless. his fandom is small but, based on the conversations I've observe around the internet, it's dedicated and growing. if DC gave him a proper limited series (6 issues minimum) and a better suit he'd be taking off easier more than he has. it's wild to me that (apparently) the delays and the shortening were due to Hamner's art, yet even with all that extra time he really gave us power wolverine ranger. smh aside from Tony Patrick's investment and excitement about the character, they did Duke dirty all around with this one.
THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

This was a rare gem of a book. Such great and quirky characters, they could have been mined for a ton of stories.
