Default Who is the 4th pillar of the DCU?

So to piggyback off the other thread, I thought a poll was in order, featuring the most mentioned characters. Obviously we have a Trinity featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman but the original thread asked who would be considered #4?!!

The most mentioned characters were Aquaman, Flash, Robin, Green Lantern, and Harley Quinn. What do you say? Many of those characters have multiple versions so that’s another thing that makes this debate interesting...

I still feel it’s Aquaman, and it looks like I’m not alone in thinking that

    Sales wise? Definitely Harley Quinn.

I like Flash being the fourth member. Not only does he have a long line of legacy characters like the Trinity, but he also fills a more unique role in the trinity in that he has superpowers, but they're a type of man made power created by science.

I know people like Aquaman, but the Trinity are all distinctly separate in their own ways. Aquaman inhabits that same mythic sphere that Wonder Woman does, so adding him feels crowded with magical/mystical/legendary characters.

I voted Flash, for much the same reason(s) km_sus stated.

I went w. Wally West to be specific.

He was the Post Crisis Flash, his were the stories mined for the 1990 Flash TV show, despite the character being called Barry Allen, and the current show draws inspiration from Wally, too.
Even the (ugh) Ezra Miller Flash is more Wally than Barry.

DC's 4th pillar Aquaman has 4.8k followers on reddit. What kind of standards do you guys set for the supposed 4th pillar character?

Not sure but I know Reddit doesn’t factor into it for me.

how about google trends, comics websites views? They all line up quite nicely to make an argument for the Flash being the 4th.

The Flash simply has a more devoted fanbase than Aquaman.

But which Flash? There’s Barry, Wally and Jay? All three replaced the other for a given time period unlike say the Trinity or Aquaman where Bruce has always been Batman, Clark has always been Superman and Diana has always been Wonder Woman, there are no competing versions. The same is true for Aquaman, Arthur is Aquaman. Can’t say the same for Flash, Robin or Green Lantern.

I voted Aquaman. He’s iconic, he has the most successful DC film of all time, he has popular spin-offs (Mera, Kaldur...etc) and his own mythology he doesn’t share with anyone else.
Done with DC. Can't handle the constant whiplash! Time to go on a hiatus!

There is no actual 4th pillar of DC, but currently, Aquaman has the best chance at potentially filling that position.

    It'd be Barry
