Looks like we are cancelled, at #18.
It lasted a little longer than Cates's run at #12,
but honestly there are still so much potential to this story,
the family of Peter in the other world,
where is Quasar trapped exactly,
Hercules in general,
Moondragon in general.
Maybe the team will appear more in Sword series.
Maybe I didn't express myself correctly. I didn't mean that a comicbook would set up something for the movie. I meant that Marvel would probably launch something to captalize on the GOTG Vol. 3, when it comes out. I mean, GotG is the poster boy for movie/comics synergy. After DnA's GotG brought a lot of spotlight to the team, which, before it was a completly different team set ten centuries in the future, The MCU launched a wild card film about a bunch of cosmic misfits based on it, and, around the same time, Marvel relaunched GotG under Bendis, with a line-up very similar to the movies', including, intead of the battle-hardened veteran of the DnA version, a Star Lord basically reduced to a bumbling jokey man-child very similar to the movie's (although I have to say, I don't think Pratt went as far as Bendis did in reducing Star Lord to an idiot). However, all in all, the movies do take some inspiration from the comics (less and less, IMHO, but, still...), even if just basic concepts, and old storylines that they completely re-write.
Peace
Yeah, I'm hoping Ewing gets to continue some of his ideas in other books.
I did like Cates on the book, but it was clear it was just a way for him to do Silver Surfer Black and set up the Knull storyline in that. I'm glad Ewing got a longer run, but it's sad to see him go, especially as GOTG was kind of a surprise book for me (I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did). It's also the comic that made me a fan of Ewing.
BL and comics fan. 🌈 ----- For those saying BL is "pandering to fujos! Too girly! It's fetishization!!!" --> https://www.fujoshi.info/ (a website with academic resources on Queer Media Studies in Asia and LGBTQIA+ history)
The queer body has been used as a battleground, has been criminalized, ostracized, and many times erased from their own histories. -- Alesha Byrne (University of San Francisco)
So Ewing has been offered a job, I assume? Head of X, maybe?
"The Marvel EIC Chair has a certain curse that goes along with it: it tends to drive people insane, and ultimately, out of the business altogether. It is the notorious last stop for many staffers, as once you've sat in The Big Chair, your pariah status is usually locked in." Christopher Priest
So its official, Richard Rider is LBGT?
Wow, I wasn't expecting to hear this sort of news. What happened? It can't just be because Ewing is moving on, is it? Marvel should have a bunch of creators waiting on deck to take over, if that's the case. If the book warrants it. I don't understand how Marvel expects people to invest long-term if they keep shutting down projects like this.
