Who are the two guys on the right?
Conner (Kon) and Chris (Zod)?
I honestly think the next generation should build their own identity rather than try to earn the mantle of Superman.
Like Robin or Nightwing, there is really no need for Superboys to become Superman.
Let Jon be Hyperman or soemthing, in Invincible, Mark didn't grow up to become Omni-Man, so that should be a good example.
Short term (like dick did for Bruce)
Elseworlds
Alternate realities
Future stories that will never actually happen
This is when CLARK KENT can be replaced, but superman Is Clark Kent.
BTW there is so many awesome SUPER characters, I would love all of them to have their own series (I would buy them all). They don't need Clark's mantle, they need to be built up as their own cool characters and let them make their own mark with their own name
Created from 2 of the greatest men, made with 2 powersets thst are both SUPER,and has 2 cool asf looks and attitudes.
On Earth Prime Superman is and should always remain (with the possible exceptions of a short break here or there) Clark Kent, IMO.
"So you've come to the end now alive but dead inside."
The idea that [super-hero name] can be anyone, and it's not a name that belongs to just one character, has become so over-used in comics. It's actually refreshing to have one character and only one who goes by that name.
Unless we're talking about a Miles Morales situation where the original is still out there, I would be against making it a franchise.
Assassinate Putin!
It was a name given to an urban myth or supernatural vigilante/alien/farmer from kansas with fantastical and astonishing capacity by the people.Every interpretation has that in common.Clark just played into it.And he is super. It's just superman never had to go nuclear/legacy like flash or any other.
"People’s Dreams... Have No Ends"
As of now, Jon is Superman. To me Superman is not a mantle, but I guess my way of thinking is the past.
