Default King in Black: Black Panther tie in discussion (spoilers)

Tchalla built a weapon designed to combat the phoenix force!!!

This is the galactus protocol having super paranoid/prepared competent Black Panther we know and love.

Tchalla's leadership is on full display and the side characters in the story are allowed space to be themselves at no ones detriment. Okoye was aggressive and bullheaded at times but listened to. The three together are quite a force.

Re-reading now but i really need more of these characterizations and more of the vault room's secrects.

Great issue. The writing was on point and the art was stunning. The artist on this book is a real rising star, not the ones who rely on coloring to display variations in characters. 10/10 from me.

Absolutely the two panels of Tchallas face (one fully uncovered and the other when he moves past Storm as the mask forms) are incredibly detailed. The mask forming at that time letting us know he was done with his personal wants at that moment and going full King/Panther mode for him ppl was so brilliant. A true understanding of the core of the character.

    Yup! Agreed.

Loved the reference to the See Wakanda and Die story arc from Secret Invasion, which is still in my top 3 BP stories ever.

Just read this, and T'Challa voice and tone was captured so well in this book. Finally we see hints of why he can never be replaced as ruler of Wakanda. The combination wisdom, willpower, and raw intelligence working in sync during the darkest moment, leading his people to victory of a foe the rest of the heroes are struggling with. To top it's done in a way that is believed and earned.

This was the best mix of what makes T'challa, T'challa we have seen in a long ass time.

Geoffrey did a TON in one issue.

Felt nice to see Wakanda be what it was designed to be. Unbeatable. Unconquerable. Thanks to the Black Panter. Because The black Panther is Wakanda.

Great issue. I wonder if Marvel is considering Thorne for a BP solo.

If I remember correctly he was considered last time but was passed up in favor of Coates. I hope Marvel gives him a shot this time around, based on the positive reviews this tie-in is getting.

I really liked what he did with Shuri.

Alchemy fits if they are going to try and mix the current comic and mcu version of Shuri. And that was a hell of a feat.

And it was interesting tchalla needed her in the field to rally the people. You don't see that a lot of with shuri tbh. Rarely see her interacting with "normal" Wakandans as far as I can remember.

Then her getting low key sacrificed for T'challa's big plan... and when she is saved, she sin't pissed, she just asked if it worked lol. No fake drama, just one former ruler knowing what had to be done asking the current ruler.

Also... her telling Okoye to take her hands off her... perfect. Shuri is a princess/queen. She's royalty. I like royals acting like royals.

He got passed again he said it already but at least he got Green Lantern, he wrote a pretty good future state Green Lantern story in stores now, And a great vixen story in Truth and Justice 1-3. And killed this KIB Black Panther story. Hopefully, he is on the radar more now.

He said that they said no, but there’s still no announcement for a new BP ongoing, so there’s still time for them to reconsider.

Yeah, Thorne posting his old pitch on his website seems to indicate he's basically given up on writing BP solo.

Hope he at least gets a mini or something in the future. Too much talent being wasted here.

I just realize this spoiler thread.

-Black Panther got a Phoenix killing weapon. Yeah that is kinda cool

-Put German Peralta in the rotation for the next Black Panther solo, please

-The Shuri and T'Challa intelligence balance was good, You don't have to be afraid of Shuri being smart you just have to show that T'challa is smart as
    well

-Shuri mix of Science and Magic was also well done it is a pretty good lane for the character

I like the new female character from the crocodile cult.

Who would have thought that the crocodile cult would resurface again in the bp mythos
