Did you find having to deal with domestic abuse scarier than anything else?

Did any of you find domestic abuse (like for example: a violent feud between a maid and her employer to live with) way scarier than nearly anything else (such as attacks from wild animals or anything that's fictional) when you're just kids if you have a lifetime of having to deal with this and/or it were nearly unpredictable and could even trigger deadly/dangerous household accidents?
