    How many characters do you think should make up an ensemble cast for a t.v. series?

    Unless you have really good writers, they will run out of ideas fairly quickly with a small cast. Frasier, Seinfeld, The Golden Girls, and Everybody Loves Raymond managed to stay great for a long time with a smaller cast, but again, the writers were really good on all those shows.
