That's kind of the joke, "Springtime for Hitler" wasn't supposed to fly with the audiences in the film to begin with, the plot was they wanted it to fail.

Yeah, the movie remake of The Producers was what like 2005? That wasn't that long ago. And they've been doing the stage version as recently as 2019.

Some people overreact to modern outrage and act like "free speech is dead," as if the past was a holy paradise when we could say whatever we wanted. Maybe they should take the time to figure out why people don't like some of those old movies, especially from demographics whose own free speech was suppressed or ignored in the past

That's pretty much what I said earlier in this topic. People were MUCH more offended by small things back in the day, like interracial kissing or married couples sleeping in the same bed lol

Seriously, though, a lot of the people saying offensive things are offended by other things in the first place
