I’m in two minds about the idea Cates taking over Surfer.
He’s done a good job of him so far, but then he’s treated Galactus abysmally. Silver Surfer Black was dope, though.

"Sir, does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

"One of the maddening but beautiful things about comics is that you have to give characters a sense of change without changing them so much that they violate the essence of who they are." ~ Ann Nocenti, Chris Claremont's X-Men.

Thanks. Yes, I'm aware of this I prefer to wait and have it in oversized hardcover. I know there's a Donny Cates Cosmic Omnibus with Silver Surfer Black, but that's an Omnibus that includes various mini-series/runs of various characters including Cosmic Ghost Rider of which I'm not a great fan. Two of my favourite Surfer runs have been given the Omnibus treatment and I have both iof then - Stan Lee/John Buscema and Dan Slott/M.Allred/L.Allred. I recommend both Omnibuses as not only are they great stories with fantastic art, but those stories just shine in oversized format.
One of the reasons why Silver Surfer: Black was a favorite of mine was because we got to see Silver Surfer cut loose. Like, really cut loose. Floored when I read this moment from the series:
Came at a cost, yes. But to see Silver Surfer actually do this? Amazing.
"I am a man of peace."
"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."
I remember that an Infinite comic was released in conjunction with Marvel's Infinity storyline. It was a digital exclusive to be sure, but it offered a showing of Silver Surfer fighting against the Builders.
When the Builders and their armada showed up, they seemed invincible, like nothing could stop them. Then saw this. Silver Surfer, created back in the 1960s, still shows these upstarts what the Sentinel of the Spaceways can do.

Real hidden gem of a fight. Silver Surfer takes on a Cable who has unlocked his full psionic potential:
Cable had some ultimate goal in mind. Forgot what it was at the moment, but he had a passion for it. And this is what Silver Surfer had to say about that:
"I am a man of peace."
"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."
