Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Did a Lot Wrong - and One Thing Right

I agree with the article that Silver Surfer was the best thing in the movie.

Ron Marz and Ron Lim are responsible for one of if not the best Silver Surfer run of all time. He recently did an interview with Perch on a wide range of topics. Fun fact, he has worked for every comics company except one. Try to guess which one it is before you click on the link. The answer is at 7:40.

Oh and don't forget to buy the new Silver Surfer project by Ron Marz and Ron Lim

For being such a Marvel icon, what are your opinions as to why the Surfer seems to be an under appreciated character who struggles to find an audience?

Struggles to find an audience? The Ron Marz and Ron Lim duo had quite the run.

Indeed. It's never been the same since the team split & Lim left for other projects.

Which ended in the late 90s. Other icons like Dr Strange & The Sub-Mariner can no longer seem to hold a book either.

I think it has less to do with the character and more to do with the teams. Characters are a lot like cars some are very easy to drive (Spider-Man, Superman, Captain America, Black Panther) but some are high performance super cars and if you aren't a good driver you will crash right into a wall.

For fans of the characters that I said were easy to write but are unhappy with the direction they are being taken in? Don't @ me LOL

Strange, Surfer, and Namor all seem to get a series once a decade. The Surfer had a 146-issue run from 1987-1999. The series held on to its audience as long as Ron Lim drew it, and slowly drifted to cancellation after he left.

Indeed. Any confrontation between Silverado & Thanos would be icing on the cake (IMHO):

Indeed. I only picked it back up because of the "buzz" surrounding Ron Garney, since I enjoyed his run on Waid's Captain America (Pre-Heroes Reborn):

Namor hasn't really recovered since Byrne left.
