Younger. The dynamic of Kara being younger than Kal-El worked well Pre-Crisis. I think Kara should look up to Kal-El, which feels weird to me if Kara knew Kal-El as a baby.

I don't have any real preference here.

Dead. I don't think bringing Zor-El back worked.

1. QUESTION: Preferred origin story? (from Krypton, from Argo outpost, etc..)

Krypton, but she's from Argo City and her rocketship is launched from there. Argo City might later be found floating in space as in the Silver Age, but Kara herself should have been born on Krypton and experienced life there.

2. QUESTION: Who raises Kara on Earth? (orphanage, the kents, etc..)

I'd go with the Danvers family, mainly because I'm heavily inspired by the CW show. Of course, I picture Kara as arriving on earth when she's in her mid-teens (or early teens at youngest) so it's not so much a question of 'raising' her as much as helping her fit in. And if its the Danvers, I like the idea from the show that they are friends/allies of Superman's which is why he chose to entrust them with her.

3. QUESTION: Preferred secret identity?

Bit on the fence here. The show has gotten me used to 'Kara Danvers'. The problem is that if Superman's Kryptonian name of Kal-El is publicaly known, then it makes sense to me that Supergirl's Kryptonian name of Kara Zor-El is also publicaly known. So in that case, a different name, like 'Linda Danvers', makes a lot more sense. Or perhaps 'Karen Danvers'?

Yay.

5. QUESTION: Big time love interest?

Don't have too much of an opinion here, honestly. I'm okay with her having a love interest. Equally okay if that's not a focus for her.

6. QUESTION: "Older" or Younger than Kal-El?

Older. I think that's one retcon that's really added some depth to the character. I love the fact that what makes Kara stand out from her cousin is that she's actually experienced life on Krypton pre-explosion and thus feels the loss of her planet and her family much more deeply than Kal-El does. It's also heartwarming in a sense for Kal-El to have someone in his life who actually knew him on Krypton and loved him as family. And naturally, it does create an interest dynamic, and a fair bit of conflict too, early on with their roles being reversed and Kal-El having to be the 'older' brother/mentor/parent-figure.

7. QUESTION: Preferred super suit?

Not too particular. I prefer some variation of the classic blue top/red skirt look.

8. QUESTION: Preferred job career?

Again, because my primary Supergirl influence is the show, I lean towards her being a reporter, but I also feel that's way too derivative of Superman. So maybe Kara/Linda has some other role in media. Maybe she's a documentary-maker or photojournalist or something. Or maybe she starts out as a secretary and works her way to an executive position of some sort. I'm even okay with Kara not having a stable job/career and dabbling in a bunch of different things. Kara just wouldn't be as attached to the idea of having a 'normal life' on earth as Clark would IMO. In her case, 'Supergirl'/Kara Zor-El unquestionably is the 'real' identity, not so much Kara/Linda Danvers.

9. QUESTION: Allura or Zor-El dead/alive?

I'd prefer dead, but I'd be okay with one of them being alive if there's a compelling enough story, preferably Allura. I actually liked the way the show played it - having Allura's sister as a villain. That might be better than straight-up having one of her parents alive. If a parent is alive though, I'd prefer if they die over the course of the story.

To me the ideal Supergirl origin was Being Super. In it she is found by the Danvers and never even heard of Superman until the very end where he shows up on the last panel. She doesn't remember Krypton even though she was around 6 or 7 when she left. That having been said one idea I had for Supergirl, if they ever go back to the "Superman is the only Kryptonian" thing is that she is a girl he rescues from a car accident and on the way to the hospital they both get struck by lightning and she gains some of his powers which grow the more sunlight she absorbs. But answering the questions:

Krypton. Both Jor-El and Zor-El wanted to save their kids at the same time.

Danvers. I like the idea of the Kents doing it but I think she should keep the Danvers name. In fact, I kind of like the idea of them finding her instead of Superman.
