We have all avoided it so far. Let's see who posts it.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Here is the original art to the all time classic splash page by Buscema and Klein.

I was planning to use that cover as my example cover but I thought, "Nah. Let someone else have it. I won with a Wanda PCR cover so why not use a Vision Buscema/PCR cover?"

    Cool

Well, okay.... I'll be "that person" who posts it. Though if we decide to exclude this particular cover due to its expectedness, I won't argue.

It is my favorite Vizh cover, though.

Wait, how do i make this bigger??? Damn -- imgur is down. I'll post a larger image when it is back up
eta: okay Imgur is once again working. Yay!!!

I was just making an observation, I wasn't suggesting other versions (original/homage) need to be disqualified.

Oh I know that Conn Seanery. ...but thanks. I wasn't saying that others here were saying things they shouldn't have or that it should be disqualified. But I wanted to note that I myself feel #57 is "too easy" (and obvious) ...but since no one else had posted it, I couldn't resist!

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
