wow, so straight up Rick and Morty, we'll see what the reviews say but this looks like a hard pass.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
I wonder if that might have some weird link to the way the films have taken that role. My niece and nephew are both very young and have watched the MCU and DC movies already without even my mom (the grandma) having an issue with it.
Disney might honestly make a bit of sense in that I don’t think any of their attempts to have a companion cartoon series like the MCU ever worked that well, as it usually got so outshone in quality and popularity by the MCU is would get forgotten. The various attempts to launch a Spider-Man cartoon once they got those rights (and killed Spectacular) without getting as much buy-in may have left them feeling burned.
With Warner Bros... it feels like they should be fairly confident they can manage it without the dichotomy between types of shows.
I still fundamentally don’t think that young children require “dumb” cartoons - the sheer amount of content that TTG! has and the cheaper production costs would justify preferring making it over TT if I were an executive, but that doesn’t mean it has to be dumb as well. I feel that’s maybe just some self-perpetuating misguided arguments in the industry right now.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?
I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP
So DC wants to go a in a different direction here. okay, I can deal. it's not like DC needs to prove themselves to anyone when it comes to animted movies or series.
this show will not appeal to me. so I hope it is enjoyed by its targeted audience.
"So you've come to the end now alive but dead inside."
I know it's aimed kids and thats the type of shows this generation grew up on but I can't do it. I've been asking for a Aquaman animated series for so long and this is what we get.
