    Default Fall of the Mutants

    My favourite X-Men storyline.

If ever there should have been a ‘last X-Men tale’ that was it.

Led into the outback era, for me the best the X-Men ever were, with Silvestri for me the perfect artist to work with Claremont at the time.

Not my favorite but definitely one of the best. The aftermath of how Warlock couldn't deal with Cypher's death was both sad and ghoulish.

Fall Of the Mutants is when I began collecting X-Men comics, the promo ads for the event popped up in the more toy-oriented books I was reading at the time (Transformers, GIJoe, hey I was a kid and those were my focus). So it definitely holds a special place in my heart. Though it was eclipsed by Inferno IMO, this was some of the strongest era of the books (of course, Claremont's first run is fairly strong)

Fall of the Mutants and the Outback Era are excellent. It was so strange to see Roma barely a footnote in Hickman's XoS. Coates also used the Adversary in his BP run(again to diminished effect). Interesting to see this old story still rippling through the line all these decades later.
Let the flames destroy all but that which is pure and true!

I agree with both points. Roma should have been much more of a player.

I am not a fan of Caotes Black Panther run and the anticlimactic battle with the Adversary is one of the many reasons why.

The Fall of the Mutants was a great storyline. It had last ramifications that move the mutants forward. Now we get this big events that don't mean anything.

    Really 3 storylines but yes.

X-Men: fake their deaths and go to the outback
    X-Factor: goes public as mutants
    New Mutants: come of age

Yes, I loved the X-Factor chapters. The O5 was living like the mutant FF afterwards. I loved that era.

Apocalypse was my favorite villain for a long time thereafter.

I liked that it was Bobby that was able to get Warren to shake off the influence of Apocalypse. Those two have been side-by-side almost least half their lives (X-Men, Champions, Defenders, & X-Factor).

My kinda storyline Angel needed an upgrade in the worst way...I like that it made him significantly stronger but not over OP......His personality change was also interesting.

In agreement with the both of you. One of the best makeovers in comic book history (IMHO):

That and Acts of Vengeance were standout ads back then.
