Good choices. I'd go for them for those awards. I will say that any other year, Vlady would have gotten the AL nod from me, but Ohtani is just too much to ignore.

First somewhat major signing of the hot stove season********* signed former Red Sox lefty Eduardo Rodriguez to a 5 year deal worth between $77-$80 million, with an opt out after 2 years. Tigers will owe the Sox compensatory pick as E-Rod had received and rejected a qualifying offer from the Sox.

I am not against the universal DH, but I guess I would like to see them alter the DH rule to allow it to be used for any position not just pitcher, so those handful of pitchers who like to hit and want to hit can, and the DH can be used to cover some other light hitting player that day (maybe a back-up catcher who is all glove no stick catching that day or some such). It'll never happen, and I hope it is at least optional to use the DH so a player like Ohtani can continue to hit on days he pitches, but I'll live with whatever they do regarding the DH. I am more concerned with the overall CBA than just how they handle the DH in it.

My Reds Johnathan India won NL Rookie of the year! The good news is he is under his rookie contract so he is safe during the Reds Fire sale as they enter rebuild mode. The down side is in 3 years when the Reds do a fire sale to go into another rebuild mode he will be gone.

Noah Syndergaard has left the Mets and signed a 1 year, $21 million dollar contract with the Angels.
