Heh. Saw it. Surprisingly, it was a rather boring game. Mostly the Phills announce team kept it moderately entertaining. I had no real dog in the fight as I like both teams just fine. As for the blowout aspect, it was kind of hilarious when they went to that position player to pitch and Riley just straight up didn't care. He obviously went to Cobra-Kai rather than Miyagi-Do as he simply hit it out. I halfway thought he was just going to sort of intentionally unintentionally strike out or walk, but no, not him!

I should explain that when I watch a game, it's mostly off one of the two teams coverage, Mostly, you can choose which, and with the Phils, I tend to go with their team for home games and the other team when it isn't.

Well, that's sure one interesting way to take in a game. Meanwhile, YOIKS! It just occurred to me that my math sucked! It should've been FIVE field goals! That's what I get for posting stuff at 0-dark thirty before I'm fully awake!

Well, the Pirates' All-Star second baseman Adam Frazier got lucky and got out of there. Yes, he's off to San Diegoland and possible postseason play, instead of watching it on TV like the rest of us. Meanwhile the Yanks are circling for a trade, and the D-Backs...who have a shot at the all time worst record in baseball are in a fire sale. They evidently don't have any fans other than other MLB teams licking their chops at picking up role players on the cheap. Which their GM basically admitted. Oh wells, sucks to be a D-Backs fan, I guess. Basically every member of the team is on the blocks, and probably happy to get out of there.

I have been through some really bad years here in Cincy with the Reds. But god I have never seen anything like the Dbacks. Then I get sad at remembering they beat us at their house and swept us in ours. 1-5 against them this year. That hurts!

    You guys lost to THEM?!?

Well, imagine if you were one of THEIR fans! That must hurt. Fortunately, they evidently don't have many fans, judging from their attendance figures, which are nearly as bad as during the pandemic lockdown...essentially no one goes to their games any more. Attendance of around 3,000 for an entire MLB stadium...that's...terrible.

On a more positive note, when was the last time a starting pitcher, and a good one, led the majors in home runs at this date? Never is when I'm thinking. But that guy is something else. 35 HRs at this time for a starting pitcher?!? When you think about it, most pitcher top out at a few HRs for their entire career, and even many position players would have a lot of trouble matching that.

For four of the teams in NL East, this week could well determine who will be buyers at Friday's trade deadline, and who will be sellers. Today, the first place Mets (52-44) host the third place Braves (48-50) for two while the second place Phillies (49-49) host fourth place Washington. The only reason Philly, Atlanta and Washington are still in a position to compete for at least a wild card is because the decision is so crappy, otherwise, they'd ALL be sellers.

Not only did we lose to them. We got swept at home. The closest game was 5-4 they won. The other games we lost by 5 and 3. In the 3 run lose game we let them get 14 runs. 14 runs at our home!

Who is a pathetic little MLB team? The Cleveland er...Whatevers, that's who! They apparently have a problem with their new name; in that someone else actually owns it, an already existing Cleveland men's roller derby team, (didn't know that was a thing), which also owns clevelandguardians.com.

Who does that without even checking? Er, the, um Indians? On a side note, how much do you think the owner of the men's roller derby team is going to hold them up for in exchange for the name and domain name? If I'm that guy, I'm looking at least at summer home money...

Pretty sure it was worked out before hand. No way they didnt know and when asked the management in the Roller Derby team said they cant comment. So Im guessing they get a huge pay check and a new name.

So then, a really expensive summer home. I sure would take that deal if I were him. Also, men's roller derby??? Never heard of it before, just the women's.

The fact that you have not heard of Mens Roller derby proves you are the kind of person that doesnt need Men's Roller Derby in your life and that is nothing to be ashamed of

The end of the Reds Cubs game was interesting. Beaz turned a walk off RBI in to a moment all about himself and getting the better of a rival not about his team winning and it is a joke. AG talks shot a lot fo games so he may have had it coming. Just hate to see it.

Ahhh, nothing like late game drama as Andrew McCutcheon whacked a three run homer in the bottom of the ninth to score a 6-5 win against the Nets last night. WHOO!

The game between the Nationals and Phillies tonight has been postponed after the Nationals had a dozen positive Covid tests.

It is going to be harder and harder to make these games up with the season only having less then 60 games left.

Yeah, tonight's postponed game will be made up as a twinbill starting at noon tomorrow. Problem is, the forecast is calling for strong to severe thunderstorms rolling through in the early to mid-afternoon hours, so who knows if they'll get both games in.
