I've heard that Kershaw is definitely done, but Muncy might be able to return should the Dodgers get as far as the World Series.

Got an alert that Padres manager Jayce Tingler (sounds like the name of a 1970's porn star) was fired today. Not unexpected I suppose, there had been a lot of hype and high expectations for the Fathers, and they came up woefully short after their pitching collapsed.

Dislocated elbow, and "other damage" to the arm; he's not coming back this year IMO. I think it was put out there as a "we're hopeful, but not holding out breath." sort of thing. It was just a truly unfortunate play, one of those things you can't guard against.

A two-run homer by Chris Young in the bottom of the ninth propels the Dodgers past St. Louis 3-1 and into the divisional round against the Giants. Now, my predictions:

    AMERICAN LEAGUE
Astros over White Sox in five
Rays over Red Sox in seven

    NATIONAL LEAGUE
    Brewers over Braves in six
    Dodgers over Giants in seven

WPP, this round is 5 game series, not 7.

Astros over White Sox in four
Rays over Red Sox in five

    NATIONAL LEAGUE
    Brewers over Braves in four
    Dodgers over Giants in five

That AL bit works for me, but I'd reverse the NL.

Well, I've got the Dodgers repeating as champions. To quote noted squared circle philosopher Ric Flair: "To be the man, you gotta beat the man!" And, until someone sends L.A. home, that's who I'm going with.

Ric Flair has had 16 World Championships and 2 WWF Championships. And he lost them all at some point. So The Man was beaten quite often The same will happen to The Dodgers. I take the Giants in 2. They beat the Dodgers so bad in the first 2 games that LA is scared to take the field in the 3rd game and forfeit. The Giants ride that to the World Series for the next 6 years

My my! That's quite the vivid imagination you have, my friend! You should write comic books for a living! Heh!

Addendum: Astros-White Sox are about to start their ALDS series.

Very true about Flair...but he is also the greatest wrestler of all time. That is a fact.

He is without a doubt the greatest wresgtler of all time and my 3rd all time favorite. First is Gorgeous George the greatest villain of all time. I love his saying. "Win if you can, Lose if you must, but Always Cheat." My favorite sports collectible is my "Georgie Pin" My grandpa got one when he was in the crowd of one of George's shows. They were the gold plated bobby pins he wore in his hair and gave to the crowd at times. My grandpa gave it to me when I was a kid. Number 2 is The American Dream Dusty Rhoades (we had a lawyer in my city with that name when I was a kid and I was floored he could wrestle and still be a lawyer. Ric Flair is number 3 but he has done way more in the ring then any of those two have.

I reckon they'll move to Nashville. And the A's to Vegas.
