So far we have Donna and Terry. Which is creepy. But from my understanding there was also going to be Donna and Kyle Rayner. What do you guys think?

I don't find Donna and Terry to be creepy. I mean, I don't care for age gaps that large (10 years) for characters that young (19), as a general rule, but it doesn't cross the line to creepy as me. Partially because Donna was very much an adult then (in behavior, etc.). Later crappy stuff happened, but it was healthy relationship as written in the pre-COIE years. Despite what some will say, he was not her teacher, and he did not hit on other women in front of her or have affairs.
Donna and Kyle, while pleasant enough to read, was very much hampered by timing. It came on the heels of her marriage ending and his girlfriend getting murdered, so it just screamed "rebound" really loudly to me. Then her life went to hell and she got a new origin story and that was the end of that.

She also had a relationship with Roy Harper.

I would like to see Donna with someone who is super-powered and really cares for her. But I do not know who that is, lol.

Like a Red Dragon, The Phoenix shall Soar in 2024!
I've always had mixed feelings about Terry. The age difference is squicky when she was a teenager - even at 19 - and he was a divorced father pushing 30. And pretty clearly a bit of wish fullfillment for the writer and artist. But he was written - and drawn - well, was likable and well rounded.
As I didn't read GL's title I missed most of the Kyle and Donna relationship. It did seem to come too quickly after Donna's divorce, and I think I missed the whole divorce too. I still don't know why Donna and Terry split up.
I loved her fun relationship with Roy in Devin Grayson's Titans. I'd love to see that continued someday.
IIRC Donna and Terry split because of the Team Titans incident and Lord Chaos(her son Robert).... yeah... that went.. in a strange direction. It didn't fully end in divorce(but that happened)... so much as Terry, Robert, and Jennifer(Terry's child from his first marriage) died in a car crash. Oh and for extra psychological trauma... guess who Donna has to re-kill in the Nekron debacle? yeah... her husband and son.
In short... the age difference wasn't the worst of that mess :/ Also that Donna was also the one that was cursed to live multiple lives... all of them bad... by a being who was an alternate her... except empowered by the Anti-Monitor. Why? I have no idea. But it's the Anti-Monitor.

Wasn't there also a storyline (maybe even a back up...by Phil?) Where there was some chemistry/heavy flirtation with a retooled Angle Man?
Ummm, I would say the drawing was a big part of the problem. Dude looked like a hairy 70's porn star which only exacerbated existing issues like the age gap and him hitting on other girls while also being possessive of Donna.
I wonder how it would have gone if Terry was modeled off of Jeff Goldblum?
No, he really did look likes tons of guys in the late 70s/early 80s. That hair was in, it just was. Sorry, but retroactively dated fashion and hair do not make a character skeezy.
And he never hit on another woman, and I don't recall him being possesive of Donna in the pre-COIE era. He said Kori was beautiful (everyone did), but he didn't make any move on her. I don't recall him ever even saying that much for anyone else. Cite examples, please. I did only read up through Titans Hunt, so can't comment on after that.
I liked the pairing of Donna and Kyle and would have liked to see it continue after Donna’s Darkstars tenure. Both are artists and something about them clicked for me. It’s tough that editorial divides keep some interesting romantic possibilities at bay.
Jimenez’s Angelo Bend is such a great interpretation of the character... if only the Wonderverse had more width and breadth for all these characters to show up and subplots concurrently. I could go for a little, clever will-they-or-won’t-they between Donna and Angelo.
Terry and Roy never thrilled me as love interests.
An all-new character would be good, but if I had to pick an existing character I’d go with Cyborg, perhaps?
There is always Jason Todd. :P
You're literally the first people I've met who've said Terry Long isn't skeezy. In comic spaces I've been in, a lot of (mostly women and not an insignificant number of men) consider him skeevy, vomit inducing, if he unbuttoned one more button on his shirt it was as though the ark of the covenant from Indiana Jones was opened and all the readers faces melted at the sight. While I don't him that skeevy, I can see why people would view him that way. If someone who resembled Terry Long was in my proximity I would maintain mandatory six feet distance from him at all times, Covid or no Covid.
Barring some heavy revamping I don't see Terry Long and the Donna/Terry romance working as well today as it did back then.
I don't get the attitude about his clothing or hair, or god forbid his (totally natural thing that no one should be shamed for) body hair. It was in style. Plenty of people looked like that. I understand not liking Terry. I understand not liking him dating someone 10 years younger and 19. I don't get the harping on the appearance or the sheer number of people who say he did things he never did to justify that dislike. He did plenty of bad things (surrounding the divorce) that absolutely merit dislike. But wearing 80s hair and 80s clothing with 80s unbuttoned shirts during the 1980s is not and never will be a problem for me. And I will always stand up and speak when people say things about character that are factually false, at least so far as I know. It's okay to hate a character, but for things they actually did. I especially dislike the notion that people who have never read him will dislike him based on false descriptions and being told he did things he didn't do. It offends my sense of fairness. You're literally the first people I've met who've said Terry Long isn't skeezy. There was nothing wrong with Terry during the Perez era. He was older than her, yes, but that's about it.
I would argue that Beast Boy behavior around every girl he was with were much more creepier than anything Terry did.
Later he didn't like Donna being a hero and having powers again cause he tought it would put his family in danger, so he took off with their baby behind her back and filled a divorce.
But DC killed the guy along with his baby son and daughter in a car crash, so i think the dude suffered more than enough already.
