It is a confusing mess - but for some of us, that was more a feature rather than a fault.

Prometheus? Alien Covenant? At this point we can say Ridley Scott damaged the Alien franchise for 10 years, its quite abusive.

Black Christmas (2019) - This movie is is someone taking a twitter thread and making a movie out of it. As a fan of the 2006 movie this was a steaming pile of crap.

I was pretty disappointed with "Bad Times at the El Royale". premise seemed more intriguing than the execution

Hey the Joker himself is a confusing mess. Its kinda his thing, right? I mean, I almost never laugh at his so-called jokes.

    Actually, it's not.

Take a second, and think over everything from the entrance on the talk show on out.

    Once you have?

Ask yourself if they have given you two clearly separate perspectives so that you can easily pick out what is real and what is most likely the perspective of an unreliable narrator.

    spoilers:
    Most likely?

Everything that happens once the talk show's camera is no longer there to provide a reliable narrator.
    end of spoilers

Not how I remember it, but I might see something different after I watch it again.

That's how it appeared to me, some wild spin fantasy in his head.

Guess that's part of the movie - you can have different interpretations of what was or wasn't real. It appeared like that was meant to be real to me, but besides the director who knows?

Thor. I REALLY tried to like it.

Evil Dead Remake. The hanging dead cats is not entertainment.

Star Trek: Into Darkness. Seems this was Abrams' "gotcha" moment to fans as he kept insisting Benedict Cumberbatch wasn't playing Khan.

    The Green Inferno

    Alien Covenant

Man Of Steel. I wanted to like it, but ended up being such a sob fest.

All of it, this idea of what was delusional or not at the end. Sounds like fan explanations for a hot mess of a movie to me.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier: Oh hey, maybe this movie will explore the concept of liberty vs security in a post 9/11 wor- oh, the bad guys are just cartoon Nazis and the whole concept of them undermines how Shield was depicted in Avengers 1.

Captain America: Civil War: Oh, hey maybe this movie will be a deconstruction of the way superheroes can inadvertently cause destruction they were trying to stop- oh, its just a movie about Bucky again, the Slovakia Accords don't even get mentioned beyond the first Act and this film doesn't even have good fight scenes like WS. Yikes, this film is objective trash!

    You use that word;
