Default Nobody Else Cares, But I'm Kind Of A Sage About...

What's something you know a lot about that nobody around you seems to know or care about?

In my neck of the woods, it's 1930-1950 Hollywood and films. If Iived in LA, I'd probably be considered mediocre, but anywhere else, people think how much I know is weird.

Knots. Compared to everyone I know, I’m a specialist.

Warhammer Fantasy lore. Not the age of Sigmar garbage but the stuff before that.

^^^The only WARHAMMER I’m familiar w. is Gotrek and Felix.
I ran across the books on accident once back in ‘03 and devoured the existing ones and started picking up any new ones.

How much cooler Arthurian mythology was before the romances took it over and reduced to a series of jousts, idealized adultery, and quests that don’t actually involve Arthur himself.

The OG mythos was based on 12 Battles against the Saxon invaders, giants and monsters out the wazoo, 100% less incest, invasions of the realm of the faeries and assaults upon a Celtic god of death, and Arthur himself at the center of it all, with nary a Lancelot to be seen because that pretty boy would have been chewed up and spat out by whatever wolf-headed cannibal is hanging around that week.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

They already know. I’m retired Military.
It’s not a bad skillset to have and it translates into civilian jobs but I retired w. PTSD and TBI so that’s about the last thing I wanna spend time doing, and the friends I’ve made since retiring wouldn’t know a squib from a squab.

There were 12 books I think. I have them all in epub format. My friend gave me a flash drive years ago that he found and it had a ton of books on it. 12 of the Gotrek and Felix books were on there.

Used to be comics, now that they are becoming more mainstream I finally know some people who also read them.

    Tea.
I can tell you a lot about Sencha and Oolong and Assam and all that, but all my friends drink coffee.
