My mom got the shingles vaccine and she said the side effects didn't hit her until after the second dose. She was a nurse a while back - before going into IT consulting for hospitals - and she says that it isn't uncommon for ANY 2 shot vaccine to have side effects as your immune system has been primed y the first shot and can go into overdrive at the second.

To those in your late 40's, ask about the vaccine asap and and get it as soon as your doctor allows.
I got a Shingles shot last month when I went for my annual checkup. Other than a sore arm, I experienced no side effects.

I get every vaccine my Dr suggests. Shingles, pneumonia, triple boosted....
I am of the generation that saw small pox and polio eliminated as a threat. But we still got chicken pox, the measles and mumps. Which was not pleasant.

I got the first Shingles vaccine and it knocked me for a loop.

However, I blame it on the fact that I got Sepsis earlier in 2022 and my system just hasn't fully recharged yet. 2022 has been a rough year.

In Germany, it's not "recommended" under 60 by our notoriously conservative vaccine authority, and my personal physician sticks with that, sadly.

    Why is that?

It's an odd committee of old white men, retired medical professionals who usually tend to decide late and little.

I'm surprised it's not approved at all, but I know the ages can vary by country. In the US, it's recommended at 50, whereas family in Canada told me they have to wait to 60. My brother in the UK said it's 70 there.

I got shingles 1 month shy of my 51st birthday. Seriously, if I was in a position to do so, I'd recommend the vaccine for anyone age 45 and older.

Just 12 anti-vaxxers are responsible for almost 2/3 of anti‑vaccine content circulating on social media platforms.

This new analysis uncovers how a tiny group of determined anti-vaxxers is responsible for a tidal wave of disinformation.

It pays to deceive online. All the way back in 2021 the CCDH was calling out RFK Jr. and Del Bigtree’s admission in court that social media was key to their organizations’ revenue streams. That is why deplatforming grifters is so important. The profit (and politics) are what drive their behavior. Social media companies have been complicit in allowing this to happen and harm their users in the process.
