I’ve seen no full frontal Hippolyta yet, but the outfit seems a little bland. And that cape/toga is doing nothing for me.
Still, I need to see more.

Might be inspired by Mendoza's costume. To me the gold and white just represents a certain divine flare. Maybe that was the thought process. Who knows. I like it so far but seeing the concept sketches would be great.

I've been having this nagging suspicion too, also with Diana being in the Godsphere to push Yara and Nubia.

It didn't seem like he could use Diana with her post-DM status quo, so Hippolyta is there as a fill-in.

I have to ask the question, If Hippolyta who is basically Wonder woman is around, How is Naomi replacing Wonder Woman? Naomi is clearly being boosted but they still have the Batman, Hippolyta, Superman to do their Trinity thing.

As for the topic Hippolyta costume is pretty clean design, I think the sash & cape thingie will be what makes work or don't.

It evoked Wonder Woman while looking like it came first and Diana adopted a look inspired by her mother, which is pretty cool.

I like the gold, purple, and white and how it stands out amidst the color schemes of the other characters’ costumes, but sister-queen had better stock up on OxiClean and Shout.

I like the white because it makes her look less like Queen and more like a superhero, but the purple drapery is still regal.
