Years ago when she could have been healed, I remember Callisto mentioning something like the facial scars and missing eye are part of her identity as the Morlock Callisto. In her previous life, she was beautiful, had longer, fully hair and both eyes (no facial scarring). So presumably, this is how Callisto identifies herself.

This is correct. Callisto only wanted her powers back, but looks is what she prefers for herself when it comes to her body.

I think looking away from her moral repugnance for a moment she had some appeal. Some people have a thing for broken noses I heard and some rock stars its in how they carry themselves, not the looks - or so I heard again.
