Apparently Infinite Frontier #0 is getting a second printing, Bryan Hitch did the cover with what they are calling Final Darkseid.

Oh okay, he wears long pants. I like the simplicity of classic Darkseid, I just don't like the exposed thighs.

Why don't they have him wear a mankini (like Borat did)?

    Naked Darkseid's scarier.

Wouldn’t that just be Dr. Manhattan again?

That’s a really boring design. I absolutely hated Jim Lee’s overly gaudy Darkseid with the gold and big shoulder pads, but they could have at least added something interesting to this “Final Darkseid”. Maybe give him a cape like he had in the Super Powers show.

Sometimes you can't beat the classics. Especially with the New Gods.

The cape would cover his muscles in the silhouette. Cape is more majestic but also floaty, and the image of Darkseid for me is either him sitting or standing firmly with hands behind his back, like a towering rock.

It's a different image from a cloaked/caped villain, pretty unique, because usually muscles = brute, but he's not a brute.

He's like a mountain that you shouldn't disturb, a Titan, once he move, you're dead.

Of course since he's a sitting rock or standing mountain, too much accessory like in Jim Lee's version doesn't fit the image. Simple is best.

I say they can go even simpler by not giving him those boots, since those boots look light and I want the feeling of weight.

Who was the first one to use the Omega symbol on Darkseid? I'm guessing Howard Porter on JLA?

    Now that I’ve read it;
    1) I wonder how the justice society and the seven soldiers are going to play in this continuity. Green lantern coming out seemed a little weird.
    2) I really don’t like the direction they’re going to take Jon Kent in; no thanks to super tyrant. They might as well de- age him and leave him on the back burner until someone can develop him right.
    3) ah, Gotham, as bleak as ever. Not a town I want to spend time in.
    4) I wonder where stargirl is going to fit in; I liked king Midas; I wouldn’t mind if he showed up on the tv series. Maybe he could do a commercial selling mufflers.
    5) Hippolyta isn’t impressing me with her attitude. I wonder if she’s going to be giving yara some trouble. I like the idea of Nubia leading the Amazon’s, but I’d kind of rather see her as Wonder Woman.

    Unfortunately, it's not really "weird".
The New52 version of Alan was gay, and Tynion's Alan story back in the Green Lantern 80th Anniversary special unfortunately indicated that's where Tynion wanted to drag Golden Age Alan.
