Default WTF Is Up With Frankenstein In The DC Universe?

-Appears as a backup feature in Phantom Stranger during the Bronze Age

-A book accurate version of the character appears in issue 18 of Young All Stars

-Grant Morrison introduces a new version of Frankenstein in Seven Soldiers of Victory

Are these all supposed to be the same character?

When you have such doubts, check on DC Fandom, it has great "disambiguation" pages for each characters:

Grant said he got the idea to use a version of the character from the old Spawn of Frankenstein comic. They don’t really have much in common besides being Frankenstein’s monster.

Thanks, but it's still murky whether of not Grant Morrison's Frankenstein and the Bronze Age Frankenstein are supposed to be the same character or not. All I found was this, which is completely based on fan conjecture:

"The Spawn of Frankenstein did survive the Crisis, as shown by his appearances in Young All-Stars #18–19. However, he was later seemingly replaced in continuity by Frankenstein. This is presumably a consequence of the reality-altering Zero Hour. It is unclear whether any of the Spawn of Frankenstein's adventures still happened, but enacted by Frankenstein instead"

Why does it really matters. Almost all had a new start after Crisis On Infinite Earths. Concider it as a new character.

They could always go the Hammer Films route and say that Victor Frankenstein created several different creatures.

I'm familiar with Franknstein from the Justice League Dark comics.

He appears to have been used quite a bit in the DCU the last 10 years.

I couldn't find anything on him for the Bronze Age though, (Prior to 1986) which would suggest to me he wasn't used much...and thus no writer has ever bothered to establish a time line link as a result.
