LOL! Well, I mean, fair. Vita is probably well aware no one was knocking down Marvel's door demanding this concept. And after the turn-around they did with New Mutants, I'm very willing to trust them on execution.

Honestly...from the first interviews when this was initially meant to be released I wasn't convinced that this was a book that was absolutely necessary.
After this interview (and the preview)...I'm still not convinced. So I won't be picking this up.
For those more enthused, I do hope it hits the target and proves to be a worthwhile read.

I thought this was touted as Vita's big idea that was pitched? This is totally the opposite. I like the art but I still can't stand the dialogue, character designs or junk like "night-nightcrawler". Also, this kid is 12 years old? Shouldn't Wolverine be throwing a fit and splitting the X-Men in two over this?

I think you have the premise wrong, PetP.

These kids are not living on Krakoa. They have "regular" lives living in whatever city they're living in and see The X-Men as heroes and want to emulate them in some way.

Carmen is Gimmick, can "charge up" objects, throw them and see them explode, like Gambit.

Who Daycrawler and Marvel-Boy are is obvious.

The leader will be called Cyclops Lass and the flying dude is Cherub
