Have you been paying attention to DC's offerings lately and the outside media adaptation announcements?
Let's recap:
We have Diana, Yara Flor Wonder Girl (Brazilian-American) and Nubia.
We have Clark, Calvin, Jon and Connor, and Supergirl
We have Bruce and the Next Batman Jace plus the whole Batfamily barn which includes women, queers, and PoC
Let's look at movies and shows!:
Batwoman show which is now a queer PoC led show
Latina Batgirl movie
Black Canary movie with a Jurnee Smollett (she's black) and Misha Green developing (she's also black)
Naomi which is led by a Black girl and produced by Ava Duvernay (also black)
Blue Beetle movie starring Xolo Mariduena from Cobra Kai (Mexican led film)
Latina Supergirl Sasha Calle in Flash
No matter how you look at it, DC is putting effort into developing their in comics universe with more characters of color and queer people and they're doing it in media adaptations, too.
Have you seen the US Census Data that was just released lol? This country, where DC is based out of, is increasingly more diverse and will continue to do so until white people are not the majority.
Yeah IF, and it's a huge if at the moment with nothing more than the Johnston rumor mill to back it, it ends up happening, why would you expect DC to walk it back?
They're all and always have been out of universe reasons. DC is a fictional universe run by a company that hires writers and artists to guide their IP. DC itself is owned by corporate overlords. Nothing is for "in universe" reasons. Unless you think Supes, Bats and Wondie are sitting at a table and deciding their future stories lol. Everything that happens in the DCU, comics and outside media adaptations, is done for "Out of universe" reasons. Look at all the BS Didio did. He was an "outside of universe" reason for many reviled in-universe plotlines and plot points.
So, what are you saying?
The corporations clearly do since they've green lit them and they'll definitely make money. Corporations want to be viewed favorably and make money and the two are not mutually exclusive.
What is your argument?
Also Wonder Girl comic was repurposed from a CW pilot pitch.
Naomi literally was scooped up in a second to get a pilot WHILE the initial miniseries was running.
They're all working in tandem. Just read the Ann Sarnoff interview from a few months back.

For when my rants on the forums just aren’t enough: https://thevindicativevordan.tumblr.com/
WB didn't force that. WB needed sales. That was Didio's decision. What is your argument because you just keep asking questions lol?
Nobody would be safe, except for Batman. Don't we all know this?
I don't agree with Vathlorian that Jon would be safe because he's Superman's potentially queer kid.
But it seems you're arguing that Jon wouldn't be safe because he's Superman's potentially queer kid and that seems strange.

Batman definitely knows of Midnighter, but yeah, I don't think they've ever been shown on panel together. Even in Batman and Robin Eternal where he teams up with the whole extended Batfam. Nada.
One day we'll definitely get a Batman and Midnighter mini and we'll all have a rollicking good time with it.
