X-Force #18 - Preview

Read X-Force 15,16, and 17 yesterday and really enjoyed all three of them. Looking forward for 18. I'm happy that the art of the guest artist looks good too.

Cassara's art is really what gives this series life.

Love Cassara’s art. Also, I’m really liking Kid Omega the best of anyone in this book right now, even over Wolverine (one of my favorites). And I say that as someone who kind of despised the character in the beginning and was dismayed that he was even included in the cast. Percy (and Cassara) have really won me over with regards to Quentin Quire. And his new costume is fire.

My dream is now to see QQ interact with adult Cable when he returns. If you thought the smug little bastard got on Logan’s nerves, just wait until he browbeats Nathan for being a “third-rate nerfed psychic”. Those scenes write themselves.

The art in X-Force is only rivaled by the art in S.W.O.R.D. Both incredible art teams.

Black Tom and Quire are the standouts of this team which is just weird lol.

I don't like it here because it looks like someone is trying to look like Cassara. Great for a consistent read like in a trade or something but I'd prefer if it looked obviously different rather than uncannily(heh) similar.

That's the problem with corporate publishing, I reckon: when you have a lightning in a bottle artist, and if you can't have them doing art, get someone who will imitate their art, bc ppl will be turned off by another artist's style who is different than the winning one.

Agreed. I really look forward to both of them and largely because of the art. Which isn’t knocking the writing. The art is just that good IMO.
