Default Wonder Woman: Black and Gold Announced

Wonder Woman: Black and Gold celebrates her 80th anniversary in two colors
The 40-page first issue features a story by writer John Arcudi and artist Ryan Sook who "show us the grace immortality grants a hero."

Wonder Woman series writer Becky Cloonan (who also draws) "weaves a spine-tingling tale of Diana's most precious weapon against the darkness."

Amy Reeder writes and draws a story that "takes us back to the Golden Age for a fun romp co-starring Etta Candy."

Writer AJ Mendez Brooks and artist Ming Doyle "travel to Themyscira for a tense family reunion."

And finally, writer Nadia Shammas and artist Morgan Beem "show us a story of Diana's past failures come to haunt her."

Wonder Woman: Black and Gold #1 features covers by Jen Bartel, Ramona Fradon, Yanick Paquette, and Joshua Middleton.

Wow. This really is our girl's year.

I'll definitely be checking this out. Ryan Sook, Becky Cloonan and Amy Reeder pulling double duty, and a welcome surprise from Ming Doyle has me pretty pumped, at least from on the art front.

Exciting! Will this be 5 issues like Superman Red/Blue, Batman B/W?

I think the newsarama article says it's six-issues.

Black & Gold? Guess we’re honoring Diana’s 90s biker outfit . In all seriousness this is great, definitely excited to see Sook draw Diana.

Cool! Blue or red would make more sense as more prominent than black, but seeing the style, I'm guessing maybe they went with black just because gold on black looks really cool visually.

Why Diana gotta have split ends on cover #2 (with the skirt)? Ruins an otherwise beautiful illustration.
“You see…the rest of them are soldiers. But [Wonder Woman] is an artist.”

I only support the made of clay origin.

It's weird how my favorite WW artist Paquette didn't draw my favorite cover. This is beautiful.

I wouldn't really associate black and gold with Diana, but I'm happy for more Wonder Woman content .

    So:

    - Lasso of Truth story.

    - Clasic Etta Candy .

    - Tense family reunion? Diana dealing with Nubia?

    - Wonder what past mistakes are going to come back and haunt Diana. Considering current continuity, are we talking stuff dating back to World War II?

I'm very happy that finally other DC characters than Batman are getting these books.

And yeah, looks like a pretty good year for WW, all we need now is Liam Sharp to announce his, fingers crossed, Wonder Woman team-up book

Edit: Just checked Liam's twitter and he said that his next project is not Brave and the Bold sequel, bummer

    So dreams do come true?

The black & gold will take a bit getting used to. It looks pretty dark.

But the creator line-up sounds great. Glad to see Ming Doyle among the artists and so many current favs.

I hope the fam that isn't currently used gets an appearance in later Issues.

Awwww. I wish Sharp would come back for the WW specials. I want to see what his art in a WW book looks like when he colors it.
