Top 7 marvel heroes

I did this over in the DC forum and as a DC reader I have far more to say there, but who would you all say are Marvel's top 7 most important heroes of all time (in no particular order)?

In no particular order:Captain America, Wolverine, Spiderman, Thor, Iron Man, Cyclops, and Captain Marvel

Top Seven Most Important (to the company/media/general public?): Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Wolverine, and ___________.

(the first 6 are non-negotiable. They should be in almost everyone's list. The last one is a who knows. Marvel has a big 6. Not a big 7. I'd like to say Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers in this slot just to have a woman on the list- but really, she's not there yet, not by a long shot.)

Now- my favorite 7 (just for fun): Doctor Strange, Namor, Silver Surfer, Spider-Woman, Thor, Son of Satan, Moon Knight

As others have said, there is no Marvel 7, there's only 6.

This is rather arguable. One could make any number of cases for Cyclops as well, because of the changes in the last 10 years or so. I guess I don't see it, we can argue for any number of characters in the 7th spot - Thing, Human Torch, Phoenix, Storm, Dr Strange, etc.

The 7th spot just doesn't work. Not sure if it ever will. Mind you, I don't think it's impossible, because of the Iron Man -movie, Iron Man was elevated to the status where he's a no-brainer, but prior to the movie, I'd argue he wasn't.

There needs to be a big push for some other, pretty high-list character as well, until we can say for certain who the 7th hero is.

IMHO, I think it's going to be either Dr Strange or Black Panther. If Hawkeye keeps growing, he might become the 7th as well. I think it's pretty clear it's never going to be an FF-er or an X-man ever again tho', rights being what they are.
