Default Skinny Amanda Waller was a clone?

Do you feel that the skinny Amanda Waller (from the New 52) was a clone of the original fat version? Amanda is known for her contingency plans. Given how large she was when introduced in the pre-52, I doubt that the skinny version was really Amanda Waller because the the original had a very large frame and bone structure. There is no way that Waller would have lot so much weight. A creation of a clone(to her design) was key until she returned...

She definitely wouldn't allow a clone of herself to exist, if the latest issue of Suicide Squad is any indication. She refers to Conner Kent's existence as being illegal.

I think we have to accept that she just lost weight (maybe because she would've also been deaged by ten years like all the adult heroes thanks to Doctor Manhattan? Seriously, only the kids were unaffected) and then put it back on later.

iirc I'm pretty sure they explained that she just put on weight once she wasn't in the field as much; which, honestly, I prefer. everything doesn't need to be overly explained with super science.

also, pre and post-Flashpoint are still physically different existences.
THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

Pretty sure she wasn't, I think they just showed her getting fat later on

lol I was worried this was a canon story element when I read the titlte.

I understand why people support large Amanda Waller, but I'm indifferent to her body type, large or small

I like to think all New 52 interpretations were clones.

I like to think that the New 52 was not needed at all. Personally, I think that DC Comics should bring back either Pre-Flashpoint DC-universe back or the pre-crisis Earth-1 and Earth-2 publication.

I agree - New 52 should've been an Ultimate Universe style imprint, not a main line reboot. Even with the Infinite Frontier status quo merging all the continuities so that everything happened, at least in broad strokes, it's still a problem for specific characters, namely Shazam (pre-Flashpoint Mary was his twin sister, now she's his older foster sister - that's clearly incompatible), and Supergirl (pre-Crisis doesn't seem to count, she should be much older than she is - silver age creations shouldn't be teenagers at this point).

Nearing the end of New 52, she decided, out of stress, to let loose and get some burger, implying that she'll start getting fatter.

Of course, that's just a handwave for Rebirth.

Kind of like the opposite of the DC Animated films where they implied she was originally fat like normal but slimmed down because of her cancer.

I vaguely remember her having a daughter or niece that got killed in Ostrander/Yale Suicide Squad. They could have always said that she was filling in until the original Waller came back.

I never understood the change in the first place.
Amanda Waller stood out whenever she appeared in a book.
Amid a sea of perfect abs and impossible Barbie inspired women, here was an overweight black woman with the clout to take damn near any of them off the board.
Now she's just another generic pretty comic book character which I think is a real shame.

Maybe Amanda Waller is just a code name use by different black female agents

Yes, skinny Waller was a mistake.
