Default Who Is Your Definitive Wonder Woman Artist?

Branching off a brief discussion from the Earth One Vol. 3 thread but if you had to pick one artist who is your favorite on Wonder Woman, who would it be?

Phil Jimenez for me with George Perez, Nicola Scott, Liam Sharp, and Darwyn Cooke filling out the runners-up.

“You see…the rest of them are soldiers. But [Wonder Woman] is an artist.”

I only support the made of clay origin.

for younger/beginning Wonder Woman, Perez or Nicola
Wait I'm gonna go with Perez, I don't like some of the facial expressions in Nicola's art since it can go too young and innocent for my taste.

for experienced Wonder Woman, Fabok, Lee, or Bilquis Evely
I'm going with Bilquis since the tone is soft but still strong. Fabok's too strong and stiff while Lee leans toward sexy.

Paquete, Hughes, and Dodson tend to go too pin-up, while Sharp and Johnson tend to go for a more angular look for my taste
Travis Moore has the same feel to Nicola, really good looking, but a bit too young to match the image I have.
Bolland like Fabok is kinda stiff

Oh bonus round goes for Cliff Chiang. I have no idea which category this be, I just like it.

Oh frick Phil Jimenez is really good too.

Oof, that's like picking a favorite child. But I guess if I could only ever see one artist do WW again, it would be Nicola Scott.

Honorable mentions to Phil Jimenez, Bilquis Evely, Liam Sharp, George Perez, and Drew Johnson.

I also grew up on Jose Delbo’s art, so his is pretty definitive for me too.

Well, obviously, H. G. Peter since he co-created the character (which seems to never get acknowledged) and thus he defined Wonder Woman, her cast of characters and her world. The thing about Peter is his style wasn't what was popular at the time. Just like Marston (and his collective of writers) was going against convention with his scripts, Peter was challenging the norms of comic book art. This is partly because both were much older than the writers and artists of the day, so they were not trying to be in style with the latest fashion.

And this is my deal with a lot of the great artists that have worked on Wonder Woman since. They certainly are good at what they do and they are in step with the conventions of comic art of their day. But that's exactly what I believe Wonder Woman shouldn't be. As much as I admire George Perez or Nicola Scott or José Luis García-López or Ross Andru--they produce the art that is in favour at the time. They aren't challenging the conventions of the day--they are the standard bearers of comic art of their generation.

To be the true Wonder Woman, the characters needs an artist that is iconoclastic and unconventional. That's what Wonder Woman was supposed to be.

I don't expect to get any agreement on this point. Everyone wants the fan favourites to work on Wonder Woman--but that's exactly what stops Wonder Woman from becoming exceptional.
