This....but only for its comedic value.
Realized I misread the title.....yes probably does deserve the hate, the writing is well....well....over the top.

I've enjoyed more of the Bloodlines annuals than just the Demon one with Hitman.
Here's the thing, Dark Knight Strikes Again was clearly meant as satire and was a better comic in every way. But it was initially met with a lot of negative reaction cuz fans were expecting more of the "grim and gritty". However, it was over shadowed by ASBAR because of Frank's sheer incoherent writing, shipping delays, and..."love chunks".
Plus it wasn't helped by Jim Lee drawing it in the same style that he drew "Hush" making fans think this was supposed to be a "serious" Batman story.

Alot of the early Image comics are guilty pleasures to me.
Love the Lobdell/Maduriera X-men run and the later Alan Davis run. Onslaught and Apocalypse: The Twelve are non-ironically awesome stories.
-Tom King's Batman
-Superman For Tomorrow
-I would say DKSA, if not for that third book, which is utterly awful. But the first two are a lot of fun, or maybe it's because I read those as a kid, years before reading DKR, that I am more indulgent
-Identity Crisis
And, the one my younger brother will never forgive me for liking, my guilty pleasure: ASM Sins Past; a book with ideas I totally hate or find stupid, but that everytime I read, I find myself having a good time
"The Batman is Gotham City. I will watch him. Study him. And when I know him and why he does not kill, I will know this city. And then Gotham will be MINE!"-BANE
"We're monsters, buddy. Plain and simple. I don't dress it up with fancy names like mutant or post-human; men were born crueler than Apes and we were born crueler than men. It's just the natural order of things"-ULTIMATE SABRETOOTH
