Marionette/Mime: Marvel Haute

Here is one extra post-retirement nod to two very underrated and married 'extrahumans' from the world of Marvel's Watchmen --- the Mime and the Marionette!

Erika Manson and Marcos Maez became part of the Watchmen team of vigilant crusaders in the city until the disappearance of their beloved son. The clown costumed heroes went underground or rogue and transformed into the Occult antiheroes Marionette and Mime. The two Ms believed their son was ruthlessly kidnapped by their adversary Sinister and decided to track the villainous dark man to his sewer lair beneath the traffic of the city. Their new goal was to lead the media to the lair of the evil Sinister and subvert his mystique. Marionette/Mime robbed three banks claiming to be a circus act and then sent an anonymous notice to the newspapers claiming Sinister employed them! Furious Sinister decided to rebuke the claim and dared Marionette/Mime to find the lair in the sewer. The two antiheroes found the lair!

SINISTER: You've arrived for your dear son.
MARIONETTE/MIME: Is he burned, Sinister?
SINISTER: Do you have something valuable?
MARIONETTE/MIME: We have blood diamonds, Sinister!
SINISTER: Perhaps you're more clever than conceived.

Sinister returned their unharmed if shell shocked son Damian to the two antiheroes who gratefully returned to Earth level to once more seek a sane life of American peace and vigilance. However, the Watchmen were busy now tracking Sinister on their own and simply had no time to restore the two ex-members to glory. Therefore, Marionette/Mime continued to destabilize Sinister independently through new inventive warlord blood diamond hijacking. Perhaps someday, Marionette and Mime would find themselves in the hearty hearth of the designed dreams of their former idols, the faithful Watchmen!
